“Woman. Life. Freedom: A Point of NO RETURN for Iran?!”
We want to express our deepest gratitude to Dr. Firoozeh Kashani-Sabet, professor of history at the University of Pennsylvania, for his invaluable support for this event and for requesting Sarah Eskandari (@Sarahes_jump) to organize two incredibly dynamic informative panels. It would have been impossible to put these panels together without her guidance. These panels included ten distinguished professors, scholars, and social scientists who debated and discussed numerous topics, including women's inequality in Iran, social resistance, and nonviolent protests.
Incorporating experts in the fields of political science, history, sociology, gender studies, and anthropology, this impressive group of scholars explored and debated numerous issues at the forefront of Iran's political climate. The lively discussion included; unity amid disunity in Iran, continuity versus rupture, reconciliation, and understanding HUMANISM as the core principle of the Women Life Freedom revolutionary movement and Kurdish’s definition of freedom and the role of territorial integrity.
These scholars’ thought-provoking contributions to the panels exhibited their academic, professional, and personal concerns for Iran and its future. Events such as this are crucial in sharing information and knowledge with supporters worldwide. Listening to different intellectual perspectives will also assist in creating a road map for Iran's future.
